8 Gedanken zu “software 8

  1. Just upgraded to Windows 10 and this cable and software worked flawless. I had approx 500gb to transfer from my old computer to my new computer and this made it easy…transfer speed is fast with the 3.0 usb and the software that comes with the files is intuitive with an easy interface. The software gives you 3 options to transfer files…Sync folders to make them the same, transfer files and settings from old computer to new computer and the last option is drag and drop files. Couple notes if you don’t find your folders in the software its probably because your files are hidden…make sure you unhide your folders so they appear in the transfer box. Also you will not receive your software code till your product ships. Paid for this item and not a bias review

  2. This is a great product. It’s so much faster than any other method for transferring files. I initially tried using a USB 2.0 flash drive and that was taking forever. USB 3.0 flash drive would have been faster than the USB 2.0 but I don’t think it would match the cable speed especially if you’re moving large amounts of files. So after receiving the cable, I downloaded the software, loaded it on both computers and plugged in the cable. Both computers immediately recognized the connection and brought up the menu. I wasn’t interested in syncing the new computer with the old one, I wanted to get rid of a lot of junk on the old computer and start fresh on the new one. Couldn’t find instructions on how to do this but after awhile I found the drag and drop feature and I was able to move files and folders just where I wanted them. On drag and drop you have the option to see all your files and folders by turning on the see hidden files feature. Once you do this you can transfer any folders or files. As plugable points out, you can’t copy installed programs from one computer to the other, but you can copy the setup or install files so you can install them on the new computer. This cable and software is a big time saver. Great product. I’ve had other plugable products and only had a problem with one. They responded immediately and sent a replacement product. Great company, products and customer service as well as value for the money.

  3. Electric Quilt 8 sucks! I have been a loyal user for many years, starting with Electric Quilt 4, Electric Quilt 8 turns the clock back on user friendliest, In Electric Quilt 7, if you want to know how to do something, you could go to the help menu and do a search, not any more, In electric quilt 8, the „help“ menu only takes you the manual online, it is not searchable. For every previous release a hard copy manual was included, not any more you have to buy it for $35. Keyboard shortcuts that worked before no longer work! In many ways, the user interface has taken a giant step backwards, there are a couple of things that are easier, like changing dimensions of a grid when drawing a block. Do not buy this version of Electric Quilt. They still have not fix a bug that has existed since I started using Electric Quilt, if you delete a line from a block drawing after you have saved a coloring, it ignores the delete. Your only option is to redraw the block. At this time, I do not believe I will ever buy another electric quilt product.

  4. Setup is simple: download and install the small program on both computers and connect the cable. It gives a few options:1. Sync user files2. Copy user folders3. Drag and drop files (misnomer)4. Control the other PCThe first two options are useful if you’re transferring files from your Documents folder for example. Option #3 should be very useful for users like me, but it’s too limiting. You can’t copy anything from your Users files, Program files, or anything else that isn’t a basic folder on the drive. This is a major letdown for me. The workaround is to copy your files to another folder and then transfer from that folder…why?Option 4 is great to be included, but it doesn’t work correctly depending on your resolution and scaling. For example, controlling a 1080p monitor via another 1080p monitor works, but if you change Windows scaling (which most users do) then it cuts off the edges. Controlling 1080p via a higher resolution 1440p or 4k monitor works fine depending on scaling. If an in-app scaling option was added (like zoom), this wouldn’t be an issue. It’s great that it’s a feature, but it’s unfortunately limitedThat’s my takeaway: it’s good but too limited as a device for power users. I don’t see why they can’t let you transfer all folders, and I don’t think it would be that hard to add scaling to the remote control option

  5. I’m coming from using Magix Music Maker for the last ten years. It worked for me. I have Recently used some free trials of Mixcraft and it is now my favorite DAW. Probably won’t use anything else. Love the work flow and how easy it is to get going.. I made a lot of music with loop base Magix. But couldn’t do anything with it except let people listen to it.. Talking with Mixcraft they told me don’t sell the individual loops and sounds. But once they are place as an instrumental /Beat you can sell it or your music that you put together.. Which is what helped me make the switch. I do use Midi now.. Mixcraft 8 home studio has alot of What I need. Great quality sound. & great price for me.. I was wanting the pro studio 8.. I’ll have to wait on that.. This one does everything I need it too. I recommend it..

  6. This is not as intuitive or as immediately useful as EQ7. The learning curve stops me every time I want to do something I used to be able to do–as a beginner–on EQ7. Maybe if I enjoyed the nuances of software more, instead of quilting itself, this would be more enjoyable. But –as someone who usually has the patience to learn new things–I am tired of getting stopped, then looking for help, then having to go through steps and more steps in manuals and online, just to find out the one thing I needed to know–I will try again, but want to tell you what I wish I’d have taken more seriously from other reviews: this takes continual use and continual learning to master.
