  1. 3 were packaged incorrectly and rancid. 2 two teriyaki venison and third was smoked venison. That could really hurt someone. The stick on the left is a correctly packaged meat stick.

  2. I sent this jerky to two people. It is not your standard jerky, but more meat sticks and the wild meat is mixed with other meats such a pork. I would have rather seen straight up elk, venison etc. However these were gifts and the two men that received them LOVED them – one of the guys finished off his package in about 2 weeks. The other one lives with me – he is savoring them. All in all – I am satisfied and so are the recipients of this product!

  3. Who can say anything bad about receiving MEAT for Christmas? I was tempted to keep them all for myself, because they were so tempting. But I managed to fight the urge and give them to their recipients for Christmas. They were a huge hit, and everyone says they’re still working on finishing them several weeks later.

  4. I ordered this for my brother for a present, since he’s a bit of a jerky/meat stick connoisseur. I did read all the comments of other reviewers, but I also noted in the questions section the supplier replied to concerns about the presence of beef in the sticks saying that most is minimal, and all is required to meet USDA standards. And YES, it IS mentioned on the packaging, so its not being fair to the company to say they’re trying to pull a fast one. So I went ahead and bought the meats. My brother was very happy to get them, and had fun going through the selections available and noting some of the more exotic flavors. There were even some he hasn’t had yet in all his years of loving jerky (like the maple duck and kangaroo), so he was excited to try them. So far, he’s had the spicy buffalo and the elk and says that they are just delicious; the elk he says is one of the best meat sticks he’s ever had. He can taste the differences in them, although he cannot guarantee that it will be the case with all of them since he plans to savor these and make them last awhile and therefore cannot compare the first to the latter.Something he did note, is that he finds these sticks to be of good quality. Not a greasy texture or taste, and a high meat-to-fat content (at least in what he’s had so far). So even if he doesn’t end up being able to tell all of them apart in taste, they all still taste amazing to him and are worth it for that. So I’d recommend this set to anyone looking for an exotic bite, or just wanting good quality meat sticks.

  5. Wild West Jerky makes delicious jerky–phenomenally fresh, super tender, and very well-spiced without being overly salted. I cannot recommend each of the products I’ve tried highly enough–every flavour combination and game type has been better than I could expect. None of these jerkies are mixed with beef; each are the meat stated in the description with minimal processing and additives. If you or someone you know appreciates wild game or good quality jerky, this is hands-down the best place to purchase from. Expert preparation, appropriate packaging (bring a knife with you to open the vacuum seal if you take these little morsels out into the wilderness), and very prompt shipment. A++!

  6. Didn’t get any of the exotic flavors and instead got flavors I could pick up anywhere because they were unavailable and instead of contacting the buyer, they just substitute with a random assortment. No ostrich, no pheasant, no kangaroo. Very sad as this was supposed to be a really neat Christmas present for my husband and instead he’s getting buffalo and honey ham – we could pick that up lots of places! Be careful if you really want certain types – you might not get them!!

  7. Love jerky, elk bison, it’s all good. For me, it’s a bit salty, could be from the medication I’m on but, it’s a good treat for the dogs and I.

  8. Bought these for the boyfriend for Christmas. He was ridiculously happy with them. Like, stupid happy. He ate them all, didn’t share a single one, so I have no idea how any of them tasted. Oh wait- yes I do… because he had to describe each one to me IN DETAIL several times a day and then make comparisons and constantly update his Top Three list. And let everyone know what kind of animal he’d eaten that day. And continue to not share. So yeah… Jerky gets 5 stars, boyfriend gets maybe 3 🙂
