3 Gedanken zu “about x theme search engine optimization

  1. I have made three websites: two business websites, one using Softpress Freeway and one using Apple iWeb, and one personal website using iWeb. My business websites are a half dozen pages each and look presentable. My personal website is over 60 pages. So I am capable of making websites if I have software that is intuitive and easy to use.RapidWeaver, on the other hand, is impossible. I have tried several times to figure out how to use it, and I can’t even figure out how to get basic text onto a page. In iWeb and Freeway, you just make a text box and put your text in it. On RapidWeaver…I have no idea. I went to its Help file to get instructions…nothing. I went to the website…it tells how to format text, but I can’t even get text in there to begin with. I can’t get the program to do much of anything. I finally give up in frustration each time I try.Even if you can figure out how to use it, it’s not a WYSIWYG program. I can see from the tutorial videos that you have to go back and forth between the view you use to set up your page, and the view to see what it actually looks like (preview), and they’re nothing the same. In Freeway, there is a preview mode you can check in a browser, but the setup page is not all that different, so you can know what it’s going to look like as you go. Not so in RapidWeaver. If for some reason you don’t want to use iWeb but you still want an easy program to build a website, I strongly recommend Freeway, and strongly recommend you avoid RapidWeaver. Freeway is a little more difficult to use than iWeb, but it also has some more precise capabilities than what iWeb has (like manipulation of layering and making TABLES, for instance!). There’s even a pro version of Freeway for those who are more advanced in web design (the simpler version is Freeway Express, which is what I use). And Freeway Express & Pro come with an extensive .pdf user manual that is far more helpful than the extremely limited help RapidWeaver gives. Oh, and RapidWeaver makes you PAY for tutorial videos beyond the most basic. Stay away from RapidWeaver.

  2. I am an amateur web designer…having designed 5 websites for personal & family businesses. I like an easy to use software (as in not as complicated nor advanced as (Dreamweaver), but I do like some flexibility and freedom to personalize sites so they do not look like cookie-cutter, run of the mill websites. After reviewing RW, I thought it was simple enough yet was given the impression that it was somewhat customizable.I do not like it and find it quite limited in the ability to change and personalize any of the standard templates. While it is simple in nature, it requires more steps than I feel necessary in order to make simple format changes. Some format alterations are not possible, or just way to difficult to find if they are in there???Granted, i have only spent one day palying with the software, but this appears to be very basic software for very basic website design. Probably good for someone who is fine with templates and limited vision or desire/need to do anything a hair above basic. Way too difficult to truly venture away from the given templates. further, the manual is worthless…barely touches on any practical uses for my needs, an definitely nowhere near comprehensive. To make matters worse, you have to purchase video tutorials in order to learn any intermediate or advanced tasks! In a way they(rapid weaver NOT Amazon) have you cornered once you buy it as you need to make more purchases in order to learn how to use it!!! I’ve decided to cut my losses and buy another software.I have looked at Freeway Express and think it will be a better fit for me given I basically would like to build from scratch (actually prefer to start with template and make adjustments as necessary). I may just go ahead and jump into Freeway Pro so I can grow into it. After RW experience, I’m Leary to buy another limited software.Disappointed as I like to venture out of the box and stray even somewhat from basic templates. Oh, I also read they had extensive template options….there are a few, but couldn’t find a single template which worked even somewhat for the vision I have for 2 more websites I have been asked to develop. It is far too basic for my needs.

  3. Users considering RapidWeaver should know that the company behind this product, Realmac Software, came „out of the blue“ and disabled my app(actually an earlier version 3.6.5) after about 10 years of successful use. They wanted me to purchase it again! Here’s what I then said to them: „You did something to my computer software to disable RapidWeaver. It worked without problems for about 10 years and I never had to enter a serial number. However I found a work-around enabling me to use an older „copy“ of your app that does not try to trick me into paying you more $$$. I decided, at least for now, to not contact the FBI though what you did is almost certainly a violation of federal law. “ Thank God for Apple’s TimeMachine. I used it to retrieve a 2014 copy of the app and now it works again. How did they do this? Was it a Trojan Horse programmed to quit after 10 years? Or was it a cookie or virus they used to modify the app? I think it was more the later to generate revenue for their financially troubled enterprise. But I don’t really know. If they did this to version 3.6.5, I’d fear that the same will happen to other versions including 4.3.
